DSLR - Beyond the Basics Camera Course

It's not the camera - It's your knowledge.

Beyond the Basics Camera Course (PSBB).

1 Full Day Course.

This one day DSLR photography course assumes you have knowledge of your camera’s functions and features, but you realise your camera is capable of much more.

Perhaps you’re not achieving the results you hoped for with your images. After all, if you are only using ‘AUTO’ or ‘P’ modes you may as well have saved your money and purchased a compact ‘point and shoot’ camera.

Beyond the Basics Course Overview.

This course is adapted from the original “Beyond the Basics Course” I wrote for and taught at Gold Coast Institute of TAFE for 17 years. It was a 20 hour course (over 8 weeks) consisting of 4 classroom lessons and 4 external lessons - a night time location shoot, an early morning model shoot at the beach, and two studio sessions.

Time progressed, attitudes changed, and some students felt the model shoot was sexist or discriminatory, and the studio sessions were unnecessary. However all those that did attend commented on how much more knowledge they received and learnt from these sessions - even if they may have felt hesitant at first.

As there was also non-productive time in the classroom - roll marking, late arrivals, break time, etc., I’ve reduced the course content to one full day - a very full day, with theory in the morning and practical application in the afternoon.

The Model Session, and Studio Sessions are now Workshops. So anyone interested in those can come along and receive a ton of extra information, experience and knowledge.
